Where Does RUMMY Come From?
Few things transport us quite like the sound of tiles sliding across the table. Rummy is one of those games that awakens both mind and heart—thanks to its quick rhythm, simple logic, and ability to bring together generations in a single match.

A Story Told in Tiles
Rummy was born in the 1930s in Romania, during a time when card games were censored. Ephraim Hertzano, a Jewish immigrant who later moved to Israel, created the game as an alternative to traditional card games—replacing cards with tiles.

Over time, he refined it with the help of his family. The very first sets were handmade and sold from their home, until the game began to gain popularity in cafés, on beaches, and in the homes of Tel Aviv.

By the 1970s, Rummy had conquered both the United States and Europe. In 1977, it became the best-selling game in the United States. Since then, it has been translated into more than 30 languages and distributed in over 50 countries.

How Do You Play?
The goal is simple: get rid of all your tiles by forming number combinations—runs of the same color or groups of the same number in different colors. Just like traditional rummy, the strategy lies in timing, order, and a touch of daring.

What makes it truly special is how the plays evolve: you can take tiles from an existing combination on the table to create a new one, transforming the match into a dynamic, almost choreographic game.
